Boys Scout Camp - By Alex

Last week we went to Boys Scout Camp called Mataguay Ranch. My brother Nathan and my Dad came too. First we had to unload our camping gear. Then we had to do a swim test. It was rainy when we did it. Then we had to get ready for dinner. We had to go up a hill for announcements. After that we had dinner and desert. Then we went back to our camp and get ready for bed.

We went to bed then we wake up and went to break feast. After that we had a hour or so before 9:00 for our first class. We had two classes before lunch. Then we went to lunch. After lunch we had two more classes then we had free time. Some kids did fishing, shooting and some did an extra class. I did Indian Lore, geology, cooking, weather, and canoeing.  After free time there were announcements then dinner and desert. We went back to our camp and went to bed. This is what we did on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.

During the week the trading post was open. They had candy, t-shirts, stuff you need for your class. Some kids call it the Alamo because it looks like it to us. They also did hikes and nighttime activities.

On Wednesday was game day and some kids went on a glider for there class. We were in group 4 for the games. The first game was a plank of wood with 3 round wood and one more to push with the first one to past the line wins. We came in second place for the first game. For the second game we had to remember the things on the table and write down the things we remembered. Then we went to the next game. It was a water game. We got second place. We did good so far. The next game was a shooting game. We came in third place. Then we did a swimming game. We came in second place. Our last game was a water balloon game, where we got first place.

Then we went to a barbeque. After that we got ready for the Rugged O's, overnight excursions. I did the star one where we saw lots of stars. It was fun. Lots of our kids did the one were they made there own shelters and they have to sleep in them, called wilderness survival. They gave us stuff to make our own S' mores. We went to bed then we woke up and eat breakfeast.

We left on Friday after dinner. It was a good camp.
